This is an Open Aged Tour for passengers over the age of 6 years. Children between 6-18 must also be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 6 years are not permitted to travel on tour.

Suitability:

Individual hikes vary between 2-5km. You can choice to requested to sit out a hike if you feel like just relaxing and enjoying the outback air - email us for more details if your not sure it you can hike the routes.

General fitness is required.

To Bring:

Please check with your agent at time of confirmation. However, for most tours you will need the following: towel, water bottle, flash light, small pillow if camping, toiletries and items of a personal nature, hat, sturdy walking shoes, sun screen, camera and film, warm clothing for night time in winter months and wet weather gear.

Note: For your convenience a ‘Safaris Survival Kit’ will be available to purchase on tour from your guide which includes a torch, travel pillow and travel towel.

You will be travelling in an air-conditioned four wheel drive vehicle and exploring this extraordinary World Heritage area at a relaxed pace with guide who really knows his or her stuff. This is a camping tour.

Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu
After pick up from your hotel or accommodation, we head towards Kakadu National Park. Our first adventure is a crocodile spotting cruise. We visit the Bark Hut Inn and continue on into Kakadu. We cross the South Alligator River before heading to Ubirr Rock where we see classic examples of Aboriginal rock art and spectacular 360 degree views. At the end of the day we travel to our campsite in Kakadu. During the evening we enjoy a hearty dinner at our camp before overnighting in
‘hard top’ accommodation (private facilities – tour code SKK3A).

Day 2: Kakadu to Katherine
After breakfast we will head out to explore one of the many magnificent natural attractions in the National Park, dependent on the season and weather conditions. You will have the opportunity to swim in cool clear water, walk through bush tracks and explore spectacular sandstone country. After lunch we travel south out of the park into the historic mining area of Pine Creek. On the way we stop in at Edith Falls for another refreshing swim. We finish the day by travelling to our campsite at the historic Springvale Homestead before overnighting in ‘hard top’ accommodation in the Katherine township after dinner (SKK3A).

Day 3: Katherine to Darwin
After an early start we travel to the majestic Katherine Gorge for a choice of a two hour cruise or a canoeing adventure. The waters are clear, cool and safe for swimming. After lunch we travel back up the track towards Darwin. Arrive back in Darwin at around 7:00pm.

Luggage: Our vehicles have limited space therefore please keep luggage to a minimum (i.e a small soft bag). Passengers travelling on tours that include air transfers need to observe strict luggage limitations

Health: Tours are to remote areas and there is quite a lot of hiking involved. Passengers should be of reasonable health and fitness and be carrying all required medication.
