Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu National Park

G'day and welcome to Australia's Top End! After pick up from your accommodation, you'll meet your guide. We leave Darwin early and our first stop is at Fogg Dam - Darwin's premier site for water birds including Jabiru, Egrets, Ibis and Geese. After getting our first hit of birdlife, we travel onto the Mary River Wetlands for a 1 hour cruise. You will experience the billabongs and paperbark forests which support breeding populations of many bird species. We'll enjoy lunch at the South Alligator River before we visit the Mamukala Wetlands. Here, you can take in the spectacle of thousands of migratory magpie geese congregating to feed. To top off our afternoon we take the Murdudjurl Cultural Tour to learn more about local aboriginal people and their country before heading to our camp for the evening, having dinner around the camp, under the stars.
Camp: Private Permanent Campsite

It's an early rise today to enjoy a sunrise boat cruise on Yellow Waters. You'll watch the wildlife come alive around you! We then head south to the Yirmikmik region of Kakadu searching for birds in the Kambolgie rock formations. We'll stop for lunch at Pine Creek before spending the early afternoon in this region on the lookout for birds like the Hooded Parrot and the Goulden Finch. Both of these birds are very rare but may be spotted in these regions if we are lucky. We make our way back to Darwin. Trip finishes in Darwin around 19:00 on day 3.
