Day 1: Cairns - Lakefield National Park
Depart Cairns at 7.00am. Journey over the Great
Dividing Range into 'Quinkan Country'. Climb
to the top of Split Rock to see ancient Aboriginal
rock art
(a reasonable level of fitness and suitable
footwear is required). Continue on to Lakefield
National Park.
Camp: Lakefield National Park. (LD)
Day 2: Lakefield National Park - Weipa
Travel this morning to Musgrave Station, once
a fortress Telegraph Station. Continue on to
Archer River and across the Piccaninny Plainsto
Weipa, located on the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Camp: Weipa. (BLD)
Day 3: Weipa - Moreton
This morning you may like to join an optional
tour of Weipa- mine or a half day fishing excursion.
This afternoon continue through Batavia Downs
en route to the Wenlock River, site of the historic
Moreton Telegraph Office. Camp: Moreton Telegraph
Station. (BLD)
Day 4: Moreton -Eliot Falls
Our 4WD adventure is at its best today as we
travel along the famous Telegraph Track to beautiful
Eliot Falls. Camp: Eliot Falls. (BLD)
Day 5: Eliot Falls - Punsand Bay
Enjoy a swim in the pristine pools at the base
of Eliot Falls. Later, cross the mighty Jardine
River to Punsand Bay, located on the tropical
shores of
Torres Strait. Camp: Punsand Bay, 3 nights.

Day 6: Punsand Bay
Today is at leisure. Perhaps join an optional
cruise to Thursday Island, fishing trip with
a local guide, go bushwalking or simply relax
on the beach. (BD)
Day 7: Cape York
We visit the beautiful Lockerbie Scrub, an isolated
pocket of monsoon rainforest, on our way to
historic Somerset. This afternoon walk to the
very top of Australia, Cape York! (BLD)
Day 8: Depart Cairns
Enjoy spectacular views of the Great Barrier
Reef as we fly to Cairns, arriving at approximately
12.30pm. You will be transferred from the General
Aviation Terminal to your hotel. (B)
