What to Bring:

Comfortable, non-slip walking shoes,
(In a small bag, due to space limitations):
Sunscreen, hat, personal requisites, camera with plenty of film, insect repellent and a small water bottle.

Fitness Level: This tour is suitable for most ages, however a reasonable level of fitness is required as there is some walking required in Central Australia.

Disabled Facilities: Some facilities available, please check with reservations for details. No wheelchair access on this tour. Clients with disabilities are welcomed on the tours providing they are accompanied by an able-bodied companion and do not require special assistance from AA personel.

ITINERARY: An extension of our 3 day tour, you’ll visit Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), Kings Canyon plus the desert oasis of Palm Valley. There is plenty of time to explore each area, including sunset and sunrise on Uluru. Choose to stay in either our comfortable permanent safari camp or in hotel accommodation.

Day 1:

Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
Travel south through the Western McDonnell and James Ranges to Ayers Rock Resort and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Along the way stop at a camel farm for an optional camel ride and also view the majestic Mt. Conner. This afternoon visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), a unique rock formation of many large domes that is sacred to the local Aboriginal people. Explore Walpa Gorge and then watch the sunset at Uluru while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine.

Day 2:

Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Early departure to view the splendour of the desert sunrise within Uluru and Kata-Tjuta National Park. A light breakfast will be served by your guide while you are taking in the spectacular surroundings. You may like to climb to the top of the monolith or enjoy a guided walk and learn of the Aboriginal mythology surrounding this mystical place. Continue on a guided base tour around Uluru before visiting the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Depart this afternoon for travel to Kings Canyon. (CB)

Day 3:

Kings Canyon
After a light breakfast, join a guided climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for marvelous views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness only, sturdy shoes required). An easier walk along the boulder-strewn Canyon floor is also available. Enjoy lunch at Kings Canyon Resort (own expense) before travelling to Alice Springs. (CB)

Day 4:

Palm Valley
Join your 4WD tour group today in Alice Springs and travel out through the Western McDonnell Ranges to the oasis in the desert that is Palm Valley. Visit an Aboriginal community at Hermannsburg and learn about Aboriginal art and culture. 4WD down the Finke River through spectacular mountain scenery and rocky escarpment country. Take a guided walk through Palm Valley and marvel at the colours of the canyon walls and the ancient plant life that exists here. Return to Alice Springs where you tour concludes.

We supply: Air-conditioned tour vehicle (group size 4-21 passengers), complimentary glass of wine on Day 1, continental breakfast on Day 2 and 3, permanent tented accommodation OR air-conditioned/heated accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort, iced water throughout tour and a competent NT resident guide.

You will need: Small bag (due to space limitations), sunscreen, hat, personal requisites, camera with plenty of film, comfortable, sturdy, non-slip walking shoes, insect repellent and a small water bottle. Lunches and dinners are at the passengers own expense.

Luggage Restriction: One medium soft bag or suitcase not exceeding 12kg in weight plus one day pack which can be carried on board. If your luggage exceeds this limit, we ask that you make alternative arrangements for the excess to be forwarded to the termination point of your tour.

Special note: This tour is suitable for most ages, however a reasonable level of fitness as there is some walking and climbing required in Central Australia. All travellers should be encouraged to have adequate travel insurance.

Special note:
Anangu, Traditional Owners, would prefer that visitors choose not to climb Uluru. The Uluru climb may be closed without notice due to weather or cultural reasons.
Friday departure will run as stated above.
On the Monday departure, travel to Palm Valley will be on day one prior to traveling to Ayers Rock on Tuesday.
All travellers should be encouraged to have adequate travel insurance.
