Day 1:

Travel out of Darwin by air-conditioned mini-coach. Visitors have 4 hours to explore the many exhibits in the park including the nocturnal house, the aquarium with viewing tunnel, aviaries, birds of prey display and more. Alternatively accompany your guide for an informative overview of the habitats and wildlife of the Top End.

Enjoy a bush walk or take the train.

Board the specially designed vessel ‘Snubfin’ for the 1½ hour cruise back through Darwin Harbour to Stokes Hill Wharf. Enjoy a boat ride via the Blackmore River taking in the history, habitat and intrigue of the Top End mangrove environment. Visit a crocodile trap, try your luck with a mud crab pot and witness the majesty of any birds and wildlife that may appear on the day.

Visit the site of the historic leprosaria and see the watery grave of Darwin Harbour’s oldest known shipwreck. Join a city sights tour with expert commentary by a local guide for a perfect end to the day. See the Chinese Temple and the Botanic Gardens. Tour the historic sites of the city including the East Point Military Precinct. See the wharf area and the mooring basin.
