For those travellers wanting
a good look at the Top End but are tight for time then our
3 Day Litchfield / Kakadu Adventure will give you a good dose
of the best that Kakadu and Litchfield have to offer.
Our first day is spent exploring
Litchfield National Park which is where many of the local
Darwin residents chose to visit with its rainforest walks,
swimming in wondrous waterholes, spectacular waterfalls cascading
off the Tabletop Range and those weird termite mounds dotting
the landscape that we'll find out about.
Our next two days are devoted
to exploring the world famous Kakadu National Park. Be prepared
to view some of the best indigenous rock art in the world
at Ubirr Rock and Nourlangie Rock. We visit Jim Jim Falls,
Twin Falls, go on a private Crocodile and Wildlife Cruise,
plenty of swimming in divine waterholes and some great hiking.
Small groups and away from
the crowds
Our Kakadu tours are all genuine small group adventures in
4-wheel drive vehicles that can take us away from the crowds
as much as possible so you can enjoy the tranquillity and
grandeur of one of Australia's most popular regions.
Day 1 - Litchfield
Our first stop is picturesque Florence Falls. Here there's
a short walk through monsoon rainforest into the falls, where
you can cool off with a refreshing swim. Swim in the crystal
clear rock pools of Buley Rock holes before a short drive
to the famous Wangi Falls. Enjoy the view from the lookout
at Tolmer Falls and watch the waterfall cascading from a narrow
gorge into the huge plunge pool below. As we leave Litchfield
National Park we pass by floodplains scattered with hundreds
of Meridian Termite Mounds, we'll make a brief stop to learn
more about the inhabitants of these amazing structures. We
also get to view some fantastic bird life on the Marrakai
Floodplain as we head towards Kakadu and our overnight campsite.
