Litchfield Waterfalls:
1 Day Litchfield & Jumping
Crocodiles South of Darwin lies the spectacular Litchfield
National Park, renowned for its magnificent, year-round waterfalls
and swimming holes.
This tour not only explores
Litchfield, but lets you experience prehistoric reptiles
in the wild, on the beautiful Adelaide River where the
crocs leap out of the water as they would naturally pursue
their prey.
After getting up close
and personal with the crocs, we head south, passing Windows
on the Wetlands and Humpty Doo en route to Litchfield,
which boasts spectacular scenery, monsoonal rainforests and
endless sprin
g-fed creeks. Litchfield
also features intriguing magnetic termite mounds and
giant cathedral termite mounds, some over five metres
high.
We stop at the picturesque
Florence Falls where there is an opportunity for a
gentle walk through the beautiful vine forest.
After a break for lunch
(available for purchase), we stop for a photo opportunity
at dramatic Tolmer Falls, before heading to the twin
falls of Wangi, where there is a chance to swim and relax
(conditions permitting).
We return to Darwin via
the pretty township of Batchelor in the early evening.
Mindil Beach Market drop-offs
are available on Thursdays and Sundays.
