To:
Finke Gorge National Park, Kings Canyon, Uluru (Ayers
Rock) and Kata Tjuta (Olgas). This is an Accommodated Tour.
Itinerary
Day
1 (L)
7.30am
departure from Alice Springs. west along the MacDonnell Ranges
to historic Hermannsburg ,to explore the 'old world' village
that was once the home to Albert Namatjira and the Lutheran
Missionaries. Morning Tea in the Tea Rooms will be a delight
after you’ve taken in the incredible culture and history of
this preserved precinct.
Off
the beaten Track as we engage 4WD and head into the Finke
Gorge National Park. A great ‘hideaway’ called Boggy Hole
provides some awesome scenery, unique bird watching and a
place to swim at lunchtime. The rugged and beautiful river-scape
of the Finke will carry us through to our connecting tracks
to the days destination, Kings Canyon. Time to reflect over
a cold drink on the days activities.
Day
2 (L)
You’ll
need to charge your energy cells with a good breakfast to
prepare yourself for the awesome Rim walk at Kings Canyon
or the less strenuous Valley walk among Cycads.
We
continue Ossies’ format of 'Tracks less Traversed' on our
way to Uluru (Ayers Rock). Ancient Desert Oaks (up
to 800 years old) amongst beautiful Red Sand Hills along a
track not known by modern travellers. Appreciate the solitude
and quietness over our Lunch stop then continue to Uluru.
At sunset you’ll enjoy chicken and sparkling wine as the desert
sky says ‘goodnight’ to the ever photogenic and colour changing
‘Rock’.
Day
3 (B, L)
View
Sunrise at Uluru, base walks or climb. Next stop Kata
Tjuta (the Olgas) for walks and sight seeing. before departure
