place has very good shower & toilet facilities – plenty
of hot & cold water with comfortable SWAGS or Tents after

Day
1 (L, D): Depart Alice Springs at 7.30am. North to the
plenty Highway, then East to Atitjere Aboriginal Community
nestled below scenic Harts Range. Time to meet the locals
at the Store (Refreshments at own expense) & Art Centre
where you can view/buy locally made art. Jervois Homestead
is our next stop before leaving the Plenty Rd for the Red
Sand Track to our destination, Lindsay's place at Baton Hill
on the Hay River. Lindsay will be our Host for the next few
days and after settling in he will take you on a Nightwalk
to introduce himself and his country.
Day
2 (B, L, D): A leisurely breakfast then off on our days
Bushtucker exploration. Depending on the season, we may dig
for yams and witchety grubs; collect bush bananas, bush tomatoes
and fruits like native cucumber and the yalka, a type of onion
found in the area. We visit Mt Teitkins for lunch and go sight
seeing via Mt Smith, exploring the Hay River en route to our
Bush Camp. Enjoy a Bush BBQ or Camp Fire Meal. An evening
spent relaxing around the campfire with Lindsay, is an unforgettable
experience as he talks about his country, the old people,
their traditional ways and some of their stories.
Day
3 (B, L, D): A relaxing start to the day. Wildlife abounds
in this remote, untouched wilderness. Lindsay will identify
the species you see and explain the tracks left by animals
unseen. Goyder's Pillar for sunset before returning to camp
for a Camp Oven Dinner.
Day
4 (B, L): Sunrise walk this morning. Breakfast on your
return then pack up camp and homeward bound to the Alice via
the Plenty Highway.
