Day 1
8.30am departure from Alice Springs. Old South Road to Ewaninga Rock
Carvings. Lunch at Old GHAN Rail siding. Charlotte Range overlooking
Chambers Pillar. Sunset at Chambers pillar.
Overnight Camp at Chambers Pillar

Day 2
Sunrise over Chambers Pillar before breakfast. To historic, but
abandoned, Old Alice Well, on the Hugh River. South along the Old GHAN Line to Finke.
Reminisce at Charlotte Waters Telegraph Station ruins
(Joe Byrne lived there for 50 years). Over the South Australia Border
to Mt Dare Hotel.
Dinner ,Bed and Breakfast at MT Dare Hotel.

Day 3
Birding and nature walks, for early risers, around Mt Dare Hotel.
After a breakfast we travel through Witjira National Park to Blood Creek ruins
from where its owner Ted Colson accomplished the first Simpson Desert Crossing in 1936. Dalhousie Thermal Pools for Swimming and Lunch, before driving eastwards to Purni Bore, out to the Red Sand Dunes & beyond for our overnight
camp.

Day 4
Into Red Sand Dunes for 40 kms eastwards along the French Line, where you will enjoy the challenge of true Simpson Desert driving. At the Colson Track we turn north and the going is easier driving along the swale. We bush camp where we can easily relate to Cecil Madigan who crossed the Desert in this area in 1939

Day 5
We return east over sand dunes to the Old Andado Track then north along this beautiful desert journey as we return to Alice Springs
