Frequently
Asked Questions
Thank
you for choosing ProSail. The following are the answers to
the most commonly asked questions and will assist you when
recommending our cruises
Can
I help out with the sailing of the boat?
Yes, just ask the crew.
Can
I scuba dive?
ProSail Dive was established in December 1999 to accommodate
the demand required for diving activities on our day and extended
charter vessels. The aim of this service is to provide guests
with the opportunity to dive (whether certified or introductory),
snorkel and learn about the reef with one of ProSail Dive's
professional, qualified instructors. ProSail Dive offers rendezvous
diving for all of our overnight vessels. All you need to do
is let your crew know you would like to take the plunge.
Can
I take my camera/video?
Yes, it's a must! However, it is very important to take note
that our insurance does not cover cameras. Under no circumstances
can we accept liability. Please be sure to take special care
of them.
Do
I need to bring my own drinks?
All ProSail overnight boats are BYO - alcohol, soft drinks,
spring water, juice and chocolates.
ProSail
offers guests the opportunity to purchase your beverages at
the time of checkin, this ensures that you receive your beverages
at a rate competative to all local stores as well as being
delivered chilled to your vessel ready for departure.
All guests
should be aware that there is no bottle shop at Shute Harbour
so you must buy your drinks the night prior to your cruise.
Does
ProSail offer bus transfers?
Please advise the Check-In staff if you want Prosail to pick
you up at your local accommodation or if you are going to
make your own way. Prosail transfers are $5 return to Shute
Harbour or Abel Point Marina. For Sailing In Style guests,
transfers are included in the ticket price.
Is
choosing to cruise with ProSail the right decision?
Absolutely! The company has won three Whitsunday Tourism Awards
and two AFTA awards back to back as well as the Queensland
Tourism Awards as best Tour & Transport Operator - Significant.
ProSail is made up of highly enthusiastic professional staff
whose sole reason for being is to treat you, our guest, to
what 92% of travellers say was the highlight of their trip
around Oz. This is a unique experience that you are about
to participate in, so sit back, relax and be prepared for
a truly great adventure.
Is
it going to be hot?
Yes, if it's summer time in tropical North Queensland take
plenty of sunscreen with you and a hat. In the evenings we'll
try and cool the boat down but it will still be warm. If you
prefer, sleep on deck and enjoy the cooler breeze. If it rains
there is nothing we can do - think of it as a new, hot, wet
adventure!
Is
there shade on the boat?
Yes, all ProSail boats have sun shades. They will provide
some protection from the sun but you must continue to apply
sunscreen at regular intervals. Unfortunately we cannot sail
with the sun shades up.
Is
there water on the boat?
Yes, but if you drink a lot of water we recommend that you
take a couple of litres of spring water. It's refreshing,
tastes good and can be chilled on board.
What
do we do during the cruise?
Just about anything! The difference between a good cruise
and a great cruise is your involvement. Swim, snorkel, play
on the beach, learn to sail, bush walk, relax, party at a
resort - it's your choice. There are only two things we cannot
do - read minds and control the weather! Prosail pride itself
on the fact we have no fixed itinerary.
Where
can I store my bag?
Either at your hotel or hostel, or in the luggage storage
lockers located in Airlie Beach. ProSail does not provide
luggage storage for passengers.
