tropical capital city of Australia's Northern Territory.
Established in 1989, we have gained an insight into what
our visitors are looking for and have developed a wide range

in the Northern Territory. Click here for a map of the Northern
Territory.
We are

with group sizes ranging from 2 to 25 depending on the tour.
The small group size allows for interaction with your guide
and the chance to meet with the unique characters that make
up this colourful region.

the Northern Territory with Aussie Adventure: The Northern
Territory is a wonderful holiday destination with so much
to offer. Spend time exploring the ancient landscapes of
Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), Kings Canyon

National Park, the majestic Katherine Gorge and the fascinating
Tiwi Islands. Aussie's small group adventures provide the
opportunity to explore many unique places with friendly
and knowledgeable guides.
Exclusively
with Aussie Adventure: As the operators of Tiwi Tours
we have exclusive access to the Tropical Tiwi Islands off
the north coast of Darwin. These tours provide you with
an opportunity to meet and interact with the Tiwi people,
coastal island Aborigines with permanent smiles. Explore
areas of Kakadu National Park that most visitors do not
get to see when we stay overnight in the land of Hawk Dreaming,

of the traditional owners of this timeless land, you will
marvel at the ancient rock art, floodplains, escarpments
and abundant wildlife including crocodiles and a myriad
of birdlife.

DESTINATION
INFORMATION
Climate and geography
The
Northern Territory is so big that it covers two very distinctive
climate zones.
The
first is the Territory's tropical north, which includes
the Darwin, Kakadu and Katherine regions. This northern
region starts the year with heavy rain, which brings the
landscape to life. Towards mid-year, the humidity levels
drop and the days are warm and sunny and nights are cool.
The end of the year is pre-monsoonal season, the rain is
on its way again and humidity levels rise.
The
following chart outlines Darwin’s monthly climate averages
as an indicator for the whole northern region.

The
second zone is Central Australia, which includes the Alice
Springs, Tennant Creek and Uluru (Ayers Rock) regions. This
central region is semi-arid and experiences Australia’s
four typical seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring.
The monsoon rains do not extend this far south so the weather
is quite different to the Top End in that there is no tropical
rainy season. The following chart outlines Alice Springs’
monthly climate averages as an indicator for the whole central
region.
