Canyon
Day 1: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be
transferred to your hotel (flight to arrive
prior to 1.00pm). This afternoon travel to Kata
Tjuta. Enjoy a 2-3 hour walk through
the domes to the Valley of the Winds (for those
with a good level of fitness). Enjoy an 'outback'
sunset followed by a glass of sparkling wine
and nibbles. Travel to our BBQ venue to enjoy
a delicious barbecue dinner and stargazing (weather
permitting). Enquire about vegetarian meals.
Accommodation: Ayers Rock Resort - choice of
accommodation, 2 nights. (D)
Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
This morning there is the option to do the
Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour or
for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise
and Guided Cultural Base Walk. Both tours include
sunrise at Uluru, a visit to Mutitjulu
Waterhole and the Uluru - Kata Tjuta
Cultural Centre. See page 15 for more itinerary
details. This evening view sunset and the changing
colours of Uluru whilst enjoying nibbles
and a glass of wine.
Day 3: Kings Canyon - Alice Springs
Travel to Kings Canyon . Climb to the canyon
rim for superb views of Watarrka National Park
(for those with a good level of fitness, supportive
footwear essential). Alternatively explore the
canyon floor (an easier, shady walk). Travel
to Alice Springs this afternoon.
Note: During the hotter months,
part of the Valley of the Winds walk and the
Kings Canyon rim climb may not be available.
Alternative touring on Day 1 and/or Day 3 may
apply.
