Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock) -
Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be
transferred to your hotel (flight to arrive
prior to 1.00pm). In the afternoon, travel to
Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a 2-3 hour walk through
the fascinating domes to the Valley of the Winds
(for those with a good level of fitness). Later
enjoy an 'outback' sunset followed by a delicious
barbecue dinner and stargazing.
Accommodation: Ayers Rock Resort - choice of
accommodation, 2 nights. (D)
Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
This morning there is the option to do the
Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18)
or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise
and Guided Cultural Base Walk (Y41). Both tours
include a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the
Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.
See page 15 for more itinerary details. This
evening enjoy sunset at Uluru with nibbles
and a glass of wine.
Day 3: Ayers Rock Resort - Kings Canyon
In the morning relax or join an optional tour.
In the afternoon travel to Kings Canyon . There
may be time to view the sun set on arrival.
Accommodation: Kings Canyon Resort - Deluxe
(YK48S), Standard & First Class (YK48R,
YK48F) or Kings Canyon Lodge (YK48L).
Day 4: Kings Canyon
This morning join your guide for the rocky
climb to the canyon rim for superb views of
Watarrka National Park (for those with a good
level of fitness, supportive footwear essential).
Alternatively explore the canyon floor (an easier,
shady walk). Travel on to Alice Springs or back
to Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon.
Note: During the hotter months,
part of the Valley of the Winds walk and the
Kings Canyon rim climb may not be available.
Alternative touring on Day 1 and/or Day 4 may
apply.
Departs: Daily 2.15pm (Apr
- 29 Oct), 3.00pm (30 Oct - Mar) from Ayers
Rock Resort
Concludes: 6.30pm approximately
in Alice Springs or 4.30pm at Ayers Rock Resort
