ITINERARY OF THIS TOUR

Day 1:

Full Day. Depart: 9.00 a.m. Return: 5.30 p.m. In Alice Springs view the West MacDonnell Ranges from atop Anzac Hill. The panoramic views of the township of Alice Springs are a chance to find your bearings. Leaving 'The Alice' we follow the ranges west, stopping at the grave of Royal Flying Doctor Service founder, Reverend John Flynn. Then it's on to Simpsons Gap to search for elusive rock wallabies. Enjoy a short walk, billy tea and a light lunch at Angkerle (Standley Chasm). Angkerle's towering red walls rise just five metres apart. We then return to Alice Springs, the country's best-known Outback town. Originally settled as a post along the Overland Telegraph route, today it's a lively town with much to see and do. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service Base and the School of the Air. See the old Telegraph Station and visit the Aboriginal exhibit at Panorama Guth. Return to your hotel at approximately 5.30 p.m. (L)
