Min Numbers There is no set rule usually 5 people are needed for a trip to be confirmed. If a trip does not depart Kakadu 4WD Safaris will organise for you to depart on a similar tour or rearrange your departure date.
Vehicle Transport provided in the 9 seater Land Cruiser
- side facing seats in rear of vehicle.
Suitability Our tours are active so a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability is needed. If you enjoy hiking through gorges, swimming in waterfalls and directly experiencing the environment then our tours are perfect for you. If you have any doubts about your suitability for our tours, please check with our Reservations Department before making a booking.
What to Bring

Small bag, swimming gear, hat & sunscreen, walking boots, sunscreen, park entry fee, insect repellant, beer money, sleeping bag, torch, pillow, sense of adventure and a big smile. Sleeping bag (can be hired )

What's Included Price includes all meals provided while on tour, Adelaide River Jumping Croc Cruise, All camping equipment (please note that pillows are not provided), fresh drinking water at all times. Fresh drinking water, experienced guides, extreme water sports, crocodile cruise, air-conditioned 4WD vehicle, sense of humour and a big smile.Extra Special Guide (Adam), still plays the Didj and can spin a yarn with the best of them!

Trip Highlights Cathedral Termite Mounds, one of our many termite species, White Lily Billabong, Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) - hiking & swimming, Sunset over Yellow Waters, 8km walk right to the top of Jim Jim Falls 230 metres high, Spectacular views and a nice swim to cool off, night walk to view the nocturnal wildlife, view ancient aboriginal art sites.
NOTE: Itinerary will vary during Tropical Summer (Dec-May) according to seasonal and cultural and National park requirements. Attractions will be substituted with others of interest.

3 Day Kakadu Wet Season itinerary
Itinerary:

Day 1:

  • 6:30 pick up
  • First stop is the Kakadu 4WD Safaris headquarters to meet "Snappy" the Saltwater Crocodile.
  • Heading straight for Kakadu National Park we leave the highway and take the "old Darwin road". Your first taste of the bush
  • Cathedral Termite Mounds, one of our many termite species
  • White Lily Billabong
  • Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) - hiking & swimming
  • Sunset over Yellow Waters
  • Overnight camp at Jim Jim Campground - enjoy a cold beer (bring your own), and Authentic camp fire cooking
  • Didgeridoo lessons and Dream Time stories

Day 2:

  • We wake up with the Kookaburras call (early)
  • Real 4WDriving to explore Jim Jim and Twin Falls
  • 8km walk right to the top of Jim Jim Falls 230 metres high
  • Spectacular views and a nice swim to cool off
  • Back down to the bottom, walking through monsoonal rainforest to the Jim Jim plunge pool
  • Relax on the Sandy Beach after a Big Day
  • Back to the camp for another spectacular feed.
  • Then for a night walk to view the nocturnal wildlife, two thirds of Kakadu's wildlife is active at night.

Day 3:

  • Up early, we don't want to miss out
  • Off to view ancient aboriginal art sites.
  • Bowali Visitors Centre
  • Mamukala Wet Lands
  • Annaburroo Billabong for a swim and/or canoe in the only crocodile free billabong in the Top End
  • Last stop is the Adelaide River for a Personalized Jumping Crocodile Cruise
  • Feed the Big Crocs!!

Accommodation provided is full on bush camping, no "proper" toilets or showers, but plenty of swimming. Guaranteed to come back to Darwin tired, dirty and happy!

Please be aware that all waterfalls are subject to seasonal closures.

Camping Basic camping and facilities. Bush Camps - no facilities other than those that are carried on the vehicle. Passengers sleep in swags (Aussie bedroll). The tour will stop along the way at roadhouses for clients to have a shower and so on.

Note Itinerary:

Personal luggage is limited to an overnight bag and a day pack. Most Darwin accommodation will be happy to store any excess luggage you may have, some do charge a small fee. We recommend that your store valuables in the safety deposit at your Darwin accommodation.

National Parks:
Some activities within Australia's National parks are dependant on the weather and observance of cultural traditions, therefor itineraries are subject to change.
