Rewriting the book on bus tours since 1990, Wayward Bus steers a course away from the ordinary. Small group adventure, good information, great value and an element of fun are the main ingredients. Tours run between Melbourne and Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road and Coorong; also to Kangaroo Island; between Adelaide, Flinders Ranges, the Red Centre and Alice Springs; between Alice and Darwin; and to Kakadu.

Most travellers are in their 20s and 30s but Wayward do not impose any age restrictions so all ages of adventurous types are welcome. Vehicles used are 16 to 24 seater mini-coaches and truck-based 17 seaters. All are air-conditioned. Wayward Bus operates from bases in Alice Springs and Adelaide.

Please check first available departure times before booking flights.

More General Information on Wayard Tours from The Tour Specialists (Travel Agent License NT094) at
www.australia4tours.com a division of the Australia 4 Wheel Drive Rentals Group of sites.

Welcome and congratulations on finding us!

OK, You've not only clicked your way 'downunder' but have stumbled across a very different kind of bus company, based in Adelaide and Alice Springs, Australia.

Since starting in 1990, our way of travelling has been about small groups (using 16-22 seat mini-coaches or overlanders), getting from one place to another by the most interesting way, at the right pace (plenty of time for stops and hikes), with a bit of flexibility, minimal impact on the Earth's resources - and of course, some fun! We specialise in Australia's less touristy central corridor: Melbourne - Adelaide - Alice - Darwin. Rebelling against traditional bus tour stereotypes (under 25s or over 65s - with not much between), Wayward Bus takes an 'open-ages, open-minds' attitude and attracts a great mix of travellers. We're very affordable - some of our runs are admittedly cheaper than the express bus.

Stopovers:

While 95+% of our travellers take our tours in one go, travellers are welcome to extend these tours with a stop enroute: Classic Coast and Kangaroo Island (at Penneshaw). If interested in stopping at remote places in the Outback, talk to us first! If you are looking to learn more about Aboriginal culture you could spend a few days at the Coorong Wilderness Lodge (Classic Coast) or from Adelaide take a tour of SA's Yorke Peninsula with Narrunga guides.

Fares 'n Deals:

1. Prices are valid for travel commencing by 31 March 2006.
2. Check also our Specials page for any deals we may have on offer.
3. Student groups - six or more students on tour together? Call us for student group rates.
4. Child fares are available for 15s and under on application.

WAYWARD BUS

Rewriting the book on bus tours since 1990, Wayward Bus steers a course away from the ordinary. Small group adventure, good information, great value and an element of fun are the main ingredients. Tours run between Melbourne and Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road and Coorong; also to Kangaroo Island; between Adelaide, Flinders Ranges, the Red Centre and Alice Springs; between Alice and Darwin; and to Kakadu.

Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, Lets Go, Frommers, Fodors, Moon etc consistently commend Wayward Bus in their Australia guidebooks. Wayward's trophy shelf includes the Australian Tourism Award (Tour & Transport in 97) plus 4 State Tourism Awards (latest Dec 2003).

Wayward Bus is proudly independent of the world's dominant tourism corporations (who now control many small tour company brands as well as nearly all of the mainstream, 18-35s and the bigger backpacker brands). This means while we are a favourite recommendation by many specialist Australia travel agencies, don't expect to see us on the shelves of many 'High Street' and global 'student/youth' chain travel agents. Big biz gets on with big biz!

def. wayward: (adj.) off-course, cheeky and independent to the max!

Below is a summary of Wayward Bus tours and prices valid 01 April 2004 to 31 March 2006.
Note: $25 Uluru National Park fees are an extra charge on ALL tours that go there.
