Permanent Campsites - have permanently erected tents (multi-share), permanent cooking facilities and purpose-built fire pits, screened eating areas, share showers and toilets.

Suitability
Adventure Tours fitness info link Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 6-8kms per day. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking and exploring the wonders of Kakadu, Litchfield and Katherine Gorge National parks.

Itinerary: Dry Season Program (From May/June to November - depending on seasonal conditions and park access)

Day 1 - Darwin to Mary River
See the falls of Litchfield National Park before heading to the spectacular Mary River Wetlands, home to a vast array of bird life. This afternoon look for 'crocs' and other abundant wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge where we spend the night in our private campsite. (LD)

Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu
Our first stop is Ubirr where we discover ancient Aboriginal rock art and climb to enjoy picturesque views. We continue on to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we hike to the plunge pools for a refreshing dip. Stay overnight at our permanent camp within Kakadu NP. (BLD)

Day 3 - Kakadu National Park
This morning we 4WD into the awesome Jim Jim Falls, hiking to the base of the falls then continue on to Twin Falls. Here we join a National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall and sandy bank. Arrive at our Gunlom campsite in time to watch the vivid colours of the tropical sunset. (BLD)
NB: Tropical Summer from Dec-May - Twin & Jim Jim Falls will be closed and alternative attractions will be replaced.

Day 4 - Kakadu to Katherine Gorge
We start the day at Gunlom Falls, climbing to the top of the falls for stunning views before heading to Edith Falls, where we take a dip. We arrive at our permanent campsite near Katherine Gorge in the late afternoon. (BLD)

Day 5 - Katherine Gorge to Darwin
We spend half a day canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the spectacular Katherine Gorge. After lunch, relax in the clear waters of Douglas or Katherine Hot Springs (seasonal) before returning to Darwin. (BL)

Notes:
* A 4WD will be used on Day 2 (after lunch) and Day 3.
* A 4WD may be used for the whole duration of the tour if vehicle is available.
* Itinerary may vary and / or attractions be substituted due to seasonal conditions, Traditional Owner & National Park requirements & the closure of Twin & Jim Jim Falls. Attractions will be substituted with others of interest
* Where accommodation is not available we reserve the right to use another property of similar or better quality.
* Park fee of $12.50 & $10 fuel levy are payable on morning of departure.
* Luggage limit to a maximum of 15kgs to a backpack and a daypack.
* Safaris must be reconfirmed by 4pm the day before travel.
